how i wonder...by mimsydotesComment: ***Greetings from the Critique Club***
Lets start by, does this meet the challenge...and yes, I think this is a great light on white! His expression, position, lighting is great! I notice in your comments that the b/w was not good for this challenge. I think its great for the challenge. It really sets the mood for the picture.
The only problem I can see is the blown out shirt sleeve. Its not real bad but it does pull my eyes to it. May have lost some points with the voters there.
Overall: I think this is a great photo for a very hard challenge. The boys expression looking out the window is awesome! Congrats on 35th place!!
I hope my critique helps...

Snow Geese before the Stormby jbsmithanaComment: ***Greetings from the Critique Club***
Let me start by saying WOW..what a great picture. I am really shocked that this did not finish in the top 25! I think its an awesome picture! And it does meet the challenge.
The focus is great, and I don't see any blown out spots. Great job on that! The detail in the birds is just awesome!
The only problem I can see ( IMO ) is the birds are a little small. I'm thinking of the voters here. I think the closer it is, the more detail you can see in the birds...
Overall: Its a great photo, should have finished better than it did. Keep up the great work.
I hope my comment helps...

Don't Shoot!by SJCarterComment: ***Greeting from the Critique Club***
Lets start by looking at the whole picture...I love the black backgroung. I think it goes great with the cloth you have on. Looking at the eyes really draws me into the picture. In other words, they're at a good level!
This is the part I don't like doing...but the problem I see wrong with the picture is the hand is just in the way. Maybe if it was more like your Wraith picture it would have helped. I would have liked to seen more of the models face. Maybe the hand under the chin would have helped.
I hope my critique helps...

White Leaf in Oilby nemesise1977Comment: ***Greetings from the Critique Club***
I think this meets the challenge...Its a very sharp macro. I don't see any blown out spots which is a good thing. The detail is awesome! and the colors are great!
Two things I can see wrong with the picture. Its really hard to tell what the subject is. I have the same problem when I do a macro. Maybe pull back a little next time.
The next thing which to me is very small...the light reflection on the neck of the bottle. Maybe put a tissue in front of the light next time will help that.
I hope my Critique helps...
