Ghoul from the lagoonby russiComment: Scary! :) Fog machine, smoke bomb, dry ice?? My only nitpic is that the blackness of his robe touches a little of of the shore in the BG. slight shift in camera would have nailed it. 8 |

Jumping Wavesby PeterPicComment: Hi from the Critique Club.
First impression: Flying water and fun!
Technicals: Technically this image looks good. To my eyes the focus looks sharp and colors are clear. Tough lighting and it provides good impact with the brightly lit water droplets.
Composition: I agree with one of your commentators. A slightly off center crop would strengthen the image. IMHO, a little more above his head would also give the picture more dynamic strength. It just needs a little more context.
Post Processing: You made nice work with the tough lighting conditions. Your sharpening system seems to have worked rather well too.
Good score in the challenge, anything approaching 6 means you struck a cord with some of the voters.
I̢۪m not an expert so PM me with any questions or comments. Keep shooting!

glideby robaComment: Hi from the Critique Club.
First impression: Good composition with a pretty blue sky.
Technicals: FYI, I have had little success shooting birds, let alone flying birds! You have done a good job of freezing the eagles flight with your fast shutter. I feel that there is a lack of detail and contrast in the underneath side of the wings. Pretty tough to get an eagle to pose! A little more definition here would have been good. His white feathers look good, in fact I might have even suggested lightening them slightly.
Composition: You have placed the bird well in the frame. It̢۪s a classic view and you have captured it well.
Post Processing: My only comment here is my experience with the Shadows/highlights tool in Photoshop CS usually leave my pics a lacking in contrast. This might be why you have lost some of the detail in the black feathers.
Met the challenge well, picture needs just a little more punch to score well in this voting system. White clouds in the sky, fish in talons, etc.
I̢۪m not an expert so PM me with any questions or comments. Keep shooting!

Hidden Clauseby macrothingComment: Very interesting pic in the middle of buildings, poles, etc, etc. I really like the shot, the focus is perfect, the only thing i find a little distracting is the strong white lines in the BG. Again, the focus is so sharp the cats paw jumps out of the screen. |
