Urban nocturneby LevTComment: *Critique Club*
"Urban nocturne" is a very awesome piece for the Solo challenge, especially since you were out shooting ant 2 am.
What a nice opportunity you had with this piece. Everything is this shot is just nice. To start with the lighting really brings our eyes onto the subject. Our subject is nice, I like the we have a back and side view of the musician.
I also really like that you were able to include the audience in a natural setting. Overall this is an awesome piece. The only thing I really could say is that I would be curious to see if you cropped out a little more on the right hand side to put our subject more on the third line of the frame and cut out some of the electronics. |

Lonely....waiting for youby albc28Comment: *Critique Club*
"Lonely....waiting for you" is a nice entry into the Solo Challenge.
I think you have a nice original concept here, I like that you were brave and used an unusual angle for this piece.
Since this is a solo challenge I think the image may have scored higher if we didn't have the side distractions like the vent and the pattern on the chair taking our eyes off the subject. I really do like the side lighting as well as the focus on her.
Overall very cool idea and nice use of lighting to draw us into the piece. I look forward to seeing more of your work. |

Lone Flameby EfergohComment: *Critique Club*
"Lone Flame" is a strong entry into the Solo Challenge.
You have really nailed the subject, this almost looks like it could be a greeting cards (a serious one).
The composition is very strong and instantly grabs the viewers eye. I really like how smooth the black is, we don't see any spots or pixels. Honestly I am not sure what I could say to make this image score higher. Maybe a little more of the candle but we might loose the perspective.
I really can tell you are excellent with light and lighting your subject in this piece as well as others you have previously entered. I really look forward to more of your photos. |

Solo to the Ground ...by ColeyComment: *Critique Club*
"Solo to the Ground ..." is a good entry into the Solo Challenge. Oh I am so excited that I got one of your image, especially one from the Angel series.
I really like the black and white choice, it really draws out our subject. The placement of the subject is good. I really like the image. It just feels like their might be something missing but I really can't put my finger on it, but then again maybe that is the point.
I really hope this challenge has inspired you hop back into swing of things so that we can see more of your creative shots!

Dragonby unknowndeathComment: *Critique Club*
"Dragon" is a good entry into the Burst of Color challenge.
I really like the subject you have found, you have really found a burst of color in every day life. The subject is really enchanting and grabs my eye.
I would be curious to see the image if you kicked up the contrast a little more to bring out more color in the image. Also I would be interested to see the Dragon placed on maybe the first third from the left to kind of off center the image.
Overall I think this is a very strong piece for the challenge and you have done a very nice job. I look forward to your future challenges. |

Mellow Yellowby freakin_hilariousComment: *Critique Club*
"Mellow Yellow" is an nice entry into the Burst of Color challenge.
I think your subject is great, I like that are subjects are really lying on the thirds of the frame. I am not sure if the soft focus was intentional or maybe there was a breeze blowing by. I think the movement does give your piece something interesting that draws the viewer in. I wonder if you had just focused on one flowers specifically and let the rest melt into the background it would have scored a little higher.
Overall this is a nice piece the colors are nice, a little soft for a burst of color but I think it works well for this piece. I really look forward to seeing more entries from you, best of luck! |

Slow Joe's 1932 Pontiacby CKYidiotComment: *Critique Club*
"Slow Joe's 1932 Pontiac" is an interesting entry into the Burst of Color challenge.
At first glance I had to stop and look for a minute because the burst of color really doesn't pop out off the page. The composition is the most interesting thing in this piece. I really like that neither wheel is actually complete. The reflection captured is also nice and gives the piece good flow.
Overall I think you have a never nice and interesting piece, I am just not sure it really displays a burst of color for most voters. I really like this photograph it really made me stop and think. |
