The warm tones of this make it feel very inviting to me. Personally, I like the grass on the right of the shot as it lets the viewer have a sense of perspective as to where on the water the birds are located. I also like how all the birds are facing to the right except the last one on the left - like he is looking back to make sure no one has been left behind.

Not sure what type of post processing you did on this photo but it is gorgeous - looks like a painting. The colors are very rich and warm and the lane just looks like it is inviting the viewer out for a stroll.
