Nice angle. Like to be able to discern the eyes alittle more, as well hidden as they appear to be. A little less on the left and more on the right, including the ear not chopped, make this better in my opinion. Like the tones.

The focus on the left side of the dog's face seems good, unfortunately the oof areas and the dark pink tones in the skin, tongue and bone dominate too much.

Like the concept with the high key, but, especially with those divine eyes, retaining their clarity more make this better in my opinion.

Your call, but I find the pp removing so much detail around the head/crown loses some of the impact of the image, although I realize you were likely going for a soft look and feel.
