American Idolby punk_kaosComment: This photo suffers from being "flat".
It needs more tonal range and composition which excludes pot lids in the distance. Hint hint.
Oh, and that song sucked!
Who told you, you could sing???
Booo!!!
..
Oooops.
Did I just say all that out loud? |

The Window by bucketComment: Congrats!
You were very nearly cheated out of your much-deserved first place by an obvious fake. I'm really and truly happy for your sake that justice has been done, and that you can now fully enjoy the fruits of your efforts.
On a side note...
I also hope that this sends a strong message to DPC'ers out there to get to know your craft.
The vast majority of us won't allege that a photo should be DQ'd unless we ACTUALLY know what we're talking about.
Well spotted, Imagineer! |

A thousand feelingsby patrinusComment: This picture suffers from over-sharpening.
Then, your subject's nose looks like it's been blurred.
The tone is great, with good contrast between your shadows and highlights, leaving your image neither under-exposed, nor over-exposed, while conveying mood and drama.
I like the highlights in her eyes too.
Good luck! |

Graceful Linesby willagherComment: The temptation is always there to sharpen, and then sharpen some more.
That's the great lure, and downfall of digital.
I get the distinct feeling that this picture would benefit greatly from being softer. |

America The Overindulgentby otisXmikeComment: Very striking picture.
I would have liked to see some more saturation to bring out the stars and stripes, and the blood, because they get a bit lost, for me, now. |
