Death in the Winter II.by Jules1xComment: Nice subject matter with interesting details. The image is framed well, too. If I have one criticism I would say that the tone of the image is rather flat. I think it's a white balance issue, leaving the snow gray rather than white because your camera's sensor is trying to find middle gray. If that were corrected I think the snow would have been white and the orange part of the split pods would have popped (no pun intended) and given you a very high scoring image. |

Dropping deadby sbeaumontComment: I like this tree, the use of black and white, and the sky behind it. Nice details throughout, too. I think it would have been even better if the conifers in the background had been straightened in post processing as the way they lean in on both sides of the image is a slight distraction IMHO. |

Dead Floraby thereeceshowComment: Love the colors and the blur (mostly). I wish some part of this image (perhaps one edge with light on it) was tack sharp to contrast with all the rest of the image. I guess it's a matter of preference or artistic expression. I like so much of this and think it just missed getting a very high score from me. Still...it's a worthy effort. |

forgottenby tangueraComment: I like this, but I'm not sure why. Maybe it is the tones in the image. Maybe it's the electrical boxes. Maybe I just like old, dilapidated things. I'm not sure the flash of light in the glass helps, though, as my eye is naturally drawn to light and that is not the subject of the image. I came back to bump up the score on this one. |

Dance of the Deadby jomariComment: I like the title and can see why you selected it. The colors are pleasing, the raking light is nice, and the flower goes well with the background. If I have a criticism it is that parts of the bloom look like they have been over sharpened (something I am always doing, myself) while a couple of spots look to be out of focus. It seems like this might have been a bit soft in the original and you tried to correct it by sharpening in post processing. Having said that, the image and the idea have much to commend themselves. |

Reflections of Deathby kasabaComment: Intriguing image. I like the color and the details where they are shown. I am troubled by the slightly blown out and out-of-focus piece in the left foreground (and to a lesser extent, the somewhat darker mirror image in the right front corner). Because the material in the left front corner is so light, my eye is drawn to it, only to be met with no detail. If that corner had been as sharp as the upper-center light leaves this would have been my favorite of the challenge. I guess the depth of field was too narrow for me to appreciate the work of art hidden in this plant. I like the choice of a dark background to set off the grays and browns. |

Hydrangeaby PenelopeKComment: I wanted to like this more. Most of the image commends itself with good detail and pleasing color. I was troubled by what looks to be blown out leaves or perhaps snow around the left fringe of the plant. Still, overall I like the image. |
