Cinderella sweeping up on Desolation Rowby ColeyComment: Excellent shot. Wonderful clarity. I love that little toy in his back pocket. I wonder about the story behind that. The way the man is leaning his head on the broom, really shows emotion - sadness, hopelessness, desolation. |

our future?by fanfuineComment: Hooray! A desolate place! Normally I would like a desert photographed with some dawn or dusk light to give it some life but the flat light you found just added to the feelilng of desolation. Excellent composition - putting the driftwood in the forefront like you did really works. I expect to see a scorpien crawel out from the crack in the log. Interesting choice of tone with the sepia. |

Dead Tree in a Dead Groveby barahooComment: This is a nice shot and definately meets the challenge. I would like to see more contrast in the shot so that the details show up better. Also, IMO, when taking a photo like this, I want to have the entire tree in the shot with some breathing room. I imaging that the close crop was due to other items intruding on the scene and you take what you can get, right? |

Desolation by heidaComment: I'm ignorant about what I'm looking at -- don't know what the structures are -- but I will take your word that they something of a desolate nature :). Amazing clouds. I love the high contrast between the light and dark portions. I think you chose to compose this shot perfectly making the clouds predominant. Very, very nice. |

Desolated Line-Upby glimpsesComment: This photo conjurs up some of my more morbid imaginings. I think about bodies lying under the headstones, decomposing to liquid state and then draining out the holes in the wall. |

Home Sweet Homeby JBosieComment: Really good composition and I love the scene. It lacks the clarity I would like to see though. Otherwise, meets the challenge and great colors. |
