You have a wonderful idea here for the Shapes challenge!! It's creative and well composed! The shot looks to be in focus well, with good detail. The only thing hurting you here is the lack of light. The black background works very well for this shot, making the color of the balls stand out. I'm not sure if this shot was set up on a piece of black cloth, or if the black comes from the room being dark....but my suggestion would be to obtain some black cloth for these shots! Lots of people have had great success with velvet, I believe. If your object is on a black cloth, then you can feel free to use as much light as you like to make it visible to the viewers. It's obvious that you have a good vision for this shot and the eye to set it up for what you want!

Hello from the Critique Club!

Nice image of a downtown area! In particular, I like the blurred figure in the foreground--it shows the motion and business of the area. The number of people in the shot also speak to the traffic in this area, which comes off very well for the City Life challenge. The colors in this photo are very good and true to life, for the most part. In the upper left hand portion of the photo, the sky seems to be a bit bright, washing out some of the colors there. Composition of the photo looks pretty good--you've managed to get the movement of the people as well as a small part of the storefronts. I would be curious to see the result if the shot were angle a little more from the right, which would include a bit more of the storefronts and the interesting signs there. I believe also that a slight rotation of the photo might make this more appealing to the eyes of viewers. The sign of the Orpheum, as well as the street lights on the right, lean (ever so slightly) to the right. This can be a hard thing to account for through the camera, as it looks like your horizon is lined up pretty well. Good action and interest in this photo. I feel like I've been to Madison now :-)

Lovely coloring and light!! Creative idea for a shot as well :-) The glass in the front seems to be slanted a bit to the right, but that's my only nitpick!

I LOVE potstickers!!! One of my very favorites! Love the texture of the placemat here...it really adds something to the photo.

Beautiful presentation and composition!! I might suggest bumping up the saturation just a tad to enhance teh colors in the food. LOVE the flower on the main dish...just incredible!

Food or Foot?

Extremely creative idea!! A very interesting meal and it makes a fabulous shot. The colors in this shot look just wonderful! Lighting looks good as well. I can see some texture in the material used as a backdrop, though it doesn't really bother me personally :-) Nice job!
