I don't give a damn about the nose ring--I didn't even notice it. The important issues here are about the emotion and meaning behind the image. Is this about child abuse (as one of your commenters suggested)? Or is it a loving father clinging to a disturbed daughter in the throes of adolescent angst? Or did you intend this ambiguity to suggest the fine line between love and abuse?
In any case, this is a powerful image! |

Circa 1740by JuliBocComment: I really like this. The reflection of the room ADDS to the image for me; it shows the contrast between the ancient clock and the contemporary setting.

Tempus Fugitby jackal9Comment: Are you from Oklahoma? My grandparents were born in Poteau before Oklahoma became a state. I still have an old clock similar to yours that I inherited from them. I should try to take pictures of it. I really like what you have done with yours--it is a stunning image!

circle framedby sevilduvarciComment: I love it!
This was one of my very few 10's in this challenge. You have TWO natural circles in your image and both of them have interesting things going on in them.

Spitfire Wingby sarsonukComment: This works but I wish you could have made the stuff on the wall even more OOF. |

Dante's Infernoby VitaminBComment: This certainly has a shallow DOF but I don't see it as highlighting a subject. The first half of lines 100-102 are in focus, the middle of 103-105, and the ends of 106-109. What are you trying to say? |

Time Stands Still for Twoby Nikolai1024Comment: I hate selective desat. There wasn't much motion to stop. So why am I giving this a ten? Because it is a wonderful image and a brilliant interpretation of the challenge. |

"Standing on my own two feet"by LimboComment: Every kid is making progress but this is the only image in the challenge that I think successfully conveys the difficulties and successes of moving along the developmental path. (10) |
