Perfect Dayby Tlee05Comment: Has the fog swallowed up the picnickers after someone took just one bite of the apple? The image suggests lots of possible stories. Very Good! |

The Lady in the Lampby JudiComment: She is searching for kindred spirits but all she finds is her reflection. The floor lamp is behind her. I love it! |

Going To California (Led Zeppelin IV)by J-MeComment: Jamie,
I'm posting a comment because you asked for comments in the thread Deb started. I'm afraid I can't help much. I'm not a Led Zeppelin fan so I didn't vote on this challenge and I haven't even looked through the winners. I don't know any of the lyrics so all the titles just go whizzing past me.
So I'm looking at this just as a picture without reference to the music. It's obviously humorous; I was ROFLMAO! It shows a guy who is definitely in the wrong place or at the wrong time, yet he is pressing on, seemingly oblivious to the snow. But his expression shows that it is getting to him.
It is technically good. I like the backlighting. It is nice that you have the dark background of the bushes so that his hair stands out.

Whiskersby MelethiaComment: Tell Thomas I think he has great whiskers; they are certainly better than mine.
I really liked this. It is not "yet another cat picture." It features the whiskers and says something about how important they are to a cat. My whiskers don't do much useful for me except catch stray bits of spaghetti sauce, but his are an important part of his sensory system and they help him interact with things in close quarters.
The paw. What is that paw doing there? Is it a distraction that draws attention away from the whiskers? Or does it contribute to the feeling that he is interacting with something in close quarters? I haven't decided about this.

Simply redby MelethiaComment: This is a response to your request today for comments on this image.
I think it is simply lovely! It conveys very well the beauty of flowers in a bunch waiting to be sold. It is quite a contrast to flowers that have been primped for display. The soft focus seems just right.
The composition supports the idea that these are flowers lying in a bunch rather than upright for display. I would have preferred more of the tulips on the left and less of the leaves on the right but I don't feel strongly about this.
