I don't know the song at all so I cannot really understand how the two go together. Just looking at it from a photography perspective, what really cracks me up is how K looks like he is really digging his music. Got that good musician sneer on. hehe I can't believe he sat on the snow like that for you. So funny!

I thought this was hilarious - I seriously got a kick out of it. In looking at it again, I've got to say that it's also well done in my opinion. Very good exposure, color, for shooting against snow. Good choice of lowish light to use to give you that. Well composed, too. I'm kind of at a loss as to how to tell you to get this score above a 6. It should have. I think my little experiment with the thread you posted this to is simply telling me that there sometimes is no real reason a shot doesn't score as well as it should. This meets the challenge, has humor, is technically pretty good. Perhaps someone with more technial expertise can help you along those lines. And tell your hubby he is a great sport!

Jamie,

I'm posting a comment because you asked for comments in the thread Deb started. I'm afraid I can't help much. I'm not a Led Zeppelin fan so I didn't vote on this challenge and I haven't even looked through the winners. I don't know any of the lyrics so all the titles just go whizzing past me.

So I'm looking at this just as a picture without reference to the music. It's obviously humorous; I was ROFLMAO! It shows a guy who is definitely in the wrong place or at the wrong time, yet he is pressing on, seemingly oblivious to the snow. But his expression shows that it is getting to him.

It is technically good. I like the backlighting. It is nice that you have the dark background of the bushes so that his hair stands out.

Thank you both so much, K-M and Dennis! Your comments mean so much to me...especially, post challenge! Brought a smile to my face! *smile*

I gave you a 7. I thought it fit the song real well, especially the way he's holding the guitar like he's going to attack the song, rather than just sitting back and playing a simple melody. The humor is a nice touch -- the hawaiian style shirt in the snow is priceless. It also helps that your husband looks like he would not have been out of place at a Zep show in the '70s (assuming his hair was a bit longer back then).

I didn't get to vote but I really like this image! Some voters do pass through the challenge pretty quickly and with the somewhat tight crop the snow doesn't stand out as much IMHO and the humor was greatly lost on some.

I love this shot Jamie. Love the humor and the photo is executed flawlessly. This should have definitely done much better. IMHO

Great color, like the lighting, also very sharp. Don't like the reflections in the sunglasses, in fact I would probably do without the sunglasses.
