Underated......That photos like this receive mediocre score is IMO what's wrong with DPC. Great comp but more importantly it seems to make a connection with this viewer anyway. Anyone who's haunted the beach until dusk will relate to this on some level. To me its like knowing that the summer's going to end as does the day and trying to squeeze out a little more fun, one more wave, one more beach volleyball game, one more dip in the ocean, before the long winter ahead. Bittersweet or maybe I'm just crazy, but that's what I see. Great image. Dex

I'd say that of all your self portraits, this one is the best. Not only technically (comp, sharpness, contrast and lighting) but this pose is the most attractive and your smile genuine.

I gave this a 7. I didn't recognize you. Very sharp and met the theme better than most of the entries. Well composed and lit. The best part that really gives "pop" to this is the contrast and clarity.
