Bug's Lifeby ZippyComment: There appears to be quite a lot of ugly unsharp mask wierdness going on around the yellow features of the flowers. The Bug is very attractive and nicely framed. And the flowers complement him well. |

mountain snailby arlanbartComment: I like the framing, the lighting, and the background very much. I find myself wondering whether the shell and the eyes are not just a little more interesting than the texture on the back of the neck; then I realize focusing on the shell instead of the head and neck would ruin the framing. |

Red White & Blueby idnicComment: Great colors, Nice concept. Nice composition and lighting. There's a chromatic aberration thing going on where cream meets background that seems a bit bothersome. A radical solution would be to crop it off - don't know if this would ruin the photo or make it a little less static. |

Concreteby mlhop05Comment: Lighting is just a little harsh - almost as if done with a flash. Not clear that this is a macro shot . |

Net Shot Gerbera Xby banmornComment: Very nicely created - little lenses of water in a nylon net. Not convinced I want to see the world full of photos like this - but it's the first time I've seen the technique so it's worth an extra point or so for novelty. |

Appleby AlexMontyComment: Nicely observed. Well Lit. The white point correction seems a little yellow. Don't know why, but that seems to matter. |

In the Cloverby TallblokeComment: The focus is astonishingly sharp. Both clover and bee are superbly lit and rendered. One wonders whether the composition might be strengthened by cropping a bit of the right side off the image.
And if you will allow a bit of an absurdist comment: the bee or the clover is the wrong color. This commentator just doesn't like black and gold with this bright cerise, chartreuse green (BG) , red, and white. |

Primary colorsby AranchaComment: The paint on the brushes is very interesting and attractive. The parallelism of shape between the brushes and bars is interesting. And the lighting is beautiful.
There are a few quibbles one might have. The paint colors do not seem to match tha colors of the bars - for whatever reason. In fact, the bars don't seem to match - there apears to be a slightly greenish azure blue and a less saturated but more primal blue. Somehow, the way the brushes are so tightly aligned seems gratuitously static, especially because the materials in the brushes are the only sources of life in the photo - and the globs of paint obscure them. It is so artistically done that I am sure the photographer has a thousand times or perhaps a million times the training in the graphical arts as the commentator; still I feel strongly about these niggling little details... |
