 Taken with the kit lens reversed. Thanks to Sonifo for the wonderful tip on how to get proper macros with modest lenses :)

Aperture appears as 0 because the lens is reversed without being coupled to another lens.

In photoshop I processed by doing the following:

Levels tweaked
Contrast upped very slightly
Saturation upped very little as most of the saturation was done through levels and contrast
USM

shallow DOF. colors are not interesting, but the hair and proximity make up for it.

I really like this image, somewhat more artististic than most of the macro entries of bugs... Abstract, whilst being identifiable, if that doesn't sounds strange :) [9]

The texture on the stem is amazing! Great composition and nice depth of field.
It feels incredibly real and touchable. In my opinion, perhaps a brighter apple color (brighter red or green) might have helped increase the overall intensity of the image. Well done.

Nicely observed. Well Lit. The white point correction seems a little yellow. Don't know why, but that seems to matter.

Wow - like falling into a black hole. The fuzz on the stem is a nice detail. I wish the overall image were a touch more crisp.
