Hills of Greenby BaldurTComment: A really unusual example of backlighting - I really like how the low light paints the edge of each little hill in sweeping curves across the frame. Lack of sharp focus on large foreground tree canopy does marr the image for me - a deeper depth of field would work well here, in my opinion. |

Sunset Strollby JPRComment: Beautiful lighting! This without the fence in the background (not that I'm suggesting you could have avoided it - just dreaming/ imagining out loud) would be a killer shot! |

The Piano Manby Kris287Comment: Potentially a great picture but marred for me by the date stamp nad by the soft focus. |

Enjoyby lectrolComment: Looks like burnished gold - what a lovely effect. Nice tight viewpoint too. |

Valentine Chocolate-Cherry Torteby NstiG8trComment: Lovely clean shot with great lighting on the product and lovely detail. The presentation is a bit flat - the central composition doesn't really strengthen the impact for me at all. I wonder if a really right crop taking out much of the cake stand would be stronger? |

Summer Treatby mpetersComment: Nice idea and nice composition and nice restricted colour palette. Could really do with straightening - might be a case of shooting from a slightly different angle. Also, there's a real loss of detail in the glass stems which practically disappear into the background. |

Pre-mashedby psychephylaxComment: Nice study of a much-loved ingredient. Composition and crop work well. Could do with more light towards left of frame - wonder if a reflector would help bounce some of the light coming in from the right back into some of the shadow areas at the left? |

New Year's Resolution: Recipe for Disasterby MeeraComment: Nice top-down perspective and symmetry is interesting - unusual in current food photography trends and therefore stands out - which is a good thing. Nice choice to keep the plate and background white and black. |

Bread from Grain, not a Machineby hyperfocalComment: Nice, clean shot with good composition and nice detail. I particularly like the lack of background detail and also the scattering of grains by the loaf. Overall it seems a touch dark to me but only a touch. One of the stronger entries, in my opinion. |

Clear Soupby e301Comment: Nice top-down view - really shows off the colour and pepper corn in the soup broth. Lighting seems a bit harsh - I'm not sure I like the reflection at the top area of the liquid and the shadows are quite harsh too for my taste. |
