My Pi

This is interesting, almost as if the model were contemplating the meaning of pi. The lighting seems a little off, it is a little too bright on her right arm and chest, and the shadow from her elbow is a little distracting. The color also seems a little off. Finally, the negative space on the left of the image doesn't seem to contribute much for me. I feel like there is a story trying to be told here, but I'm not sure I get it.

This is technically well executed. Perhaps a little more DOF would have made the stem a little sharper, but that's not too important. The reflection of the flag on the table is interesting and might have added more dramatic flair to this if it was stronger.

The Fragile

This shot brings back that whole experience. We saw lots of babies about this size, many with nobody coming to visit them. It was a very emotional thing to go through. What really amazed me was the success rate the NICU had with so many of these early premies.

We were fortunate to have as short a stay in the NICU as we did. Here is a shot I took of our daughter Maddie when she was 6 days old:

Wow, sucks that I was your only comment :( I think more than anything, the centered horizon probably did you in. Given how bright the sky is compared to the rest of the image, cropping more of it out to raise the horizon might have given this more impact.
