I cannot resist this kind of photograph. I use my own side mirrors as a set every time I go out photographing wildlife (where I go you are most unwise to get out of your vehicle). I love the surreal effect of something in the side mirror; everything looks like Dali was involved. This one is a great example of the whacky world of side mirror shots. I've yet to figure out how to get an elephant to lie down on the road after I pass by, as has your dog. But I'll keep trying after this. I enjoyed it very much and I thank you.

Awwww, you've been peeking at something of mine, and you have thoroughly thrashed me at my own game. That's nearly an elephant ... Is it? It feels like an elephant, although the uncertainty about that question is marvellous to me. It is, it isn't, it is, it must be; the real answer doesn't matter. This is a beautiful, mystical photograph, perfectly poised on the knife edge between the spiritual and the corporeal. Had I produced this photograph, I'd have been thrilled and alas, surprised, and very happy. That a fellow photographer created it in this challenge makes me happier still. It's a beautiful thing. Thank you.

All I love is here: glorious kitsch, road trips, the documentary mood of black & white, and the askew alignment as if Hunter S Thompson is lolling back in the passenger seat screwing around with someone else's camera. This is irresistibly interesting. Thank you.

I don't see how this cannot be the work of Jean-Jacques Béguin. Title's a strong hint of course, but so's the gentle sense of humour balanced with the sharp instinct for unexpected beauty. It's elegantly done, and isn't all over with the first minute's contemplation. The light, especially above the horizon, is beautifully painterly. Molte grazie.

Wow! A hundred abstracts, with bottle. And the superimposed wire man is enjoying figuring it out almost as much as I am. I think he's even whistling with delight. It's beautiful, and endlessly interesting. I'm always thrilled by how pictures like this are never done; there's more, and different, with every viewing. It's the sort of picture I'd hang in my own house, because it would surprise me every day. Thank you.

Yep, if there's one thing I love about photography it's photographs where a good part of the picture is outside the frame. If it's all inside the frame, it's too easy to say, "Oh yes, I know that (bird/situation/scene/whatever)." But here we are obliged to give it a good shake of the curiosity and imagination, and that's always a good thing. Always! The picture is no longer just yours; it's become ours. Yours and mine. Yours and any viewer's. Thank you.

I love a photograph where nothing is right, because it causes the viewer to have to slip the mind out of neutral and apply some traction, or drive, of their own to resolve it. This is one of those discombobulating gems. Thank you.

Just wonderful! This exuberant marching, so savagely and effectively obstructed by the banner. It's indeed a see-and-do photo, and I like it a lot. Quirky, interesting and pleasingly unconventional. Thank you.

I like the tones, and of course I love all that rain spatter. It's dark (a good thing) and also clever ... the bird animates everything including the apt title. Also I very much like the fact that the human figure is places unconventionally, with so much of the picture behind him. It's good to see all these sacred cows turned upside down to such good and interesting effect. Thank you.

Hard to think of a photograph that revolves so much around a relatively small point; the eyes of the boy. Maybe J-J Beguin's Eye Contact. The boy's gaze is a skewer, piercing right through the viewer. It's a remarkable shot. Thank you.
