Rawhide n’ denim…by TerramarComment: Terrific textures and a simple but effective composition. The sideways point-of-view somehow adds interest. Belt's been taken in a notch recently ... alas, mine's heading the other way. 7 |

Complexionby BlimComment: Very clever idea and a very fine image. It's also an inspired composition/crop ... that malevolent eye would be much less effective in any location other than where you have placed it. 7 |

Watershedby bryanbrazilComment: Great idea and very well executed. This fine braided river gives us a remarkable feel for texture on a grand scale. What altitude? Are you a U2 pilot, perhaps? 7 |

Bullshit. Why should every photograph exhibit colour fidelity? This is dusk. Dusk is evening. Evening is velvet. Velvet is this colour. I don't want to go over the top here, especially as Robert says it's a bit of a throw-away shot for him, but PLEASE have a look at a couple of Van Gough paintings ... do you imagine Vincent's colours and textures are high-fidelity? |

The Getawayby CoozComment: Congratulations, Curt, on your highest rating image so far. I'm very pleased to see that several other commentators applauded your quirky but effective use of light in this photograph. I just took a look at your profile, and I love all of your top three entries; this was not a fluke! I encourage all other browsers to take a look as well. |

Happy Tailby DiComment: Excellent image of the end less travelled of this elephant. The photograph is not quite technically immaculate (a shortcoming I actually like), but the texture is great and it's an original point-of-view. 7 |
