This is my favourite of your first round of shots with the new EOS-20D, mainly because I'm nuts about mono & duotone B&W's at the moment. It's a beautiful old knocker (presumably it really IS old?) I like the fine detail of the metal and in the wood grain. The composition is simple but very good. Maybe the black point could be adjusted up a bit to strengthen the black end of the tonal range, or perhaps just try a tiny bit more contrast? Anyway, the quality of the new camera is evident in this and the other new images. Let's see some more!

Terrific composition and cropping! Makes an interesting and original image, if a little disjointed or fractured (which was clearly part of your intention). Right hand is wonderful, spread on the chest. The left wrist & hand are not clearly defined, and I think are therefore slightly confusing. But a good, original idea. 7

It's well done. Unusual decision to light from the left, thus leaving the closer side of the model in silhouette; I think that makes the legs appear a little awkward rather than graceful. Obviously your intent was to emphasise the torso, so maybe that explains it? Nevertheless, a fine image. 7

Well I am impressed, although the suntan line is a bit distracting. On the other hand, the stray tendril of hair is a great touch. 7

Seemed at first glance a bit like a calendar shot, but it's really rather better than that. Very fine composition and lighting. The water serves a couple of important purposes, one of which is to provide the lovely rippled reflections. 8

Thoughtful pose and lighting, and very well photographed. I love the spare, savage crop. Simplicity really works! 8

A striking image, makes the most of the contrasting skin tones of the mother and the baby. Well thought out in terms of the photographer's point-of-view. This is sure to score very high. 7

Very classy image. The low key character of it is well chosen for the equally low key pose of the model. Beautifully executed in camera and in processing. A most harmonious and thoughtful photograph. 9

Good, simple idea makes it a fun image. One of the few to use a prop for something more than mere disguise, apropos your clever title. 8
