Morning Has Brokenby MonaComment: Lovely shot. I wish the top of the branch had not been cropped out, but otherwise very nicely done. |

Schizophreniaby CEJComment: Can tell you spent time setting up this shot. A solid color background would have improved it, I think. Right now you can see a portion of an electrical outlet in the middle right side. It looks like you tried to crop it out as much as you could, but it's leaving unbalanced space on the left side of the left-most apple. The table pattern is a bit distracting, and there appears to be a loose stem hanging around next to the apple on the right. Point of view is good. You are on the right track here, but when compared to other shots in the challenge this one is not quite as strong. Overall, a decent shot. |

Candy Apple Redby DannyMComment: This was a very creative idea! My one small nit is the position of the fingers on the applicator. Because the red of the fingernails appears to be the exact same color as the red applied to the apple, one of the nail tips is getting lost in the applicator brush. Overall, a stongly composed well-done shot! |

Road Apple Intakeby GringoComment: Returning for comment. You've got a beautiful and yummy looking apple next to a thoroughly gross animal mouth. The tooth decay and drool are kind of ruining the overall visual appeal, at least for me. On the plus side, this shot shows an effective use of DOF. |

Whoops ! Missed the first timeby sharkavComment: Returning for comment. Soft focus and monochromatic color isn't helping this image. With regard to composition, the apple is in the right part of the frame. This image is not as strong as others in the challenge - keep trying and I'm sure the next one will do better. |

Tasty Treatby LKMoteComment: Returning for comment. Good use of DOF, composition is correct for the elements at hand. Perhaps having the eyes of the animal would have helped overall impact. Congratulate on the minimum of animal drool. Colors seem a bit flat. Your'e on the road here with good use of techniques, but overall the shot is somewhat mundane when compared with others in the challenge. |

Apple Tart!by amberComment: Oh, now this is just fantastic. I love the lipstick kiss on the apple - just fabulous. Great title! My one small nit is the lighting - the right side of the mannequin is getting somewhat lost in the background. Nonetheless, this is an awesome shot that should do very well in the challenge. Good luck! |

Weapon of Mass Destruction?by XileboComment: Sorry, I don't care for your title. It seems a little too politically charged, and I'm not sure the scene depicted supports it. This shot used DOF well. There is a hot spot on the apple that is distracting. The background is cluttered and visually uninteresting. The facial expressions are not attractive - the figure in black doesn't have a friendly expression, and the little girl doesn't look like she really wants the apple. There is a distracting element in the lower left hand corner of the frame that I might have cropped out. With regard to composition, the apple is dead-on center which forces the head of the older person to be cut off. You might have tried to frame the shot using the rule of thirds. Now this is just me, but this would have been an awesome shot if you had framed just the hands of the two people exchanging the apple with the sky as a background. Same position of the older person's hand, with the little girl reaching up for it. |
