Of the suicide images submitted, I found this one to be the most inline with the idea of a decision. Here, the image tells the whole story that the elements included have so well defined. The razors, the gun, the pills, all indicate methods of committing this decision to and end. More so the blurred action in the background, with the fallen chair grants us the glimpse into the final choice the capturing of the decision and it's end result. With or without this title, the image necessitates the inclusion of the keyword decision or choice.

I find the image disturbing in its commentary, which makes it an even better photograph. Some slight technical issues with the level of the table seeming to lean towards the left, however other lines indicate that the shot is actually level and the table is what really is not level. Would have liked to see the legs a bit off from center as the line straight up from all the elements seems a bit static. Otherwise a solid image for this challenge and worthy of bumping up to an 8.

This really is a beautiful image, but it invokes the 5 of Wands to me. There is conflict, battle, war, aggression. Were I to attach a series of keywords to the whole, decision would not come to mind. I cannot critique the composition, it is to me flawless and finessed, the border strange, but not at all distracting to me. I cannot however place this image among the ranks of those images that told me a story of decision in a more clear manner. I can only offer a 4.

Ah. This image. In the thread of which I linked to it from, the image becomes so much more powerful than when discovered under the Silhouettes challenge. Now with no pretext of the challenge, the image becomes powerful. The colors of the sky indicate a torment, but even in the shadows, the one important thing draws the eye to it and to the blue sky that it becomes a path to.

This image suffers from what appears to be maximum oversharpening. There are fatal flaws in the halos around the geese, creating an effect that they were painted onto the background. This is unfortunate as the composition is well laid out and the image has an interest factor. I would not place a keyword of decision on this image, as it does not tell me a story of decision due to the stance of the main subject. It does not look spooked or prepared to move. I can only offer a 3, primarliy based on flaws that can be redeemed in the composition and post processing.. the image has potential, it was simply presented in a less flattering way than it could have been.

Technically and artistically a strong image that could become a wall hanging. That said, a dandelion has no thought process and I find it hard to personify a flower in the manner you are trying to promote the image on. Without the title, this would be keyworded with flower, white, dandelion, seed, floating, but not decision. Strong interest, artistic approach, great detail in a macro with a moving secondary object, but I cannot place this in the ranks of the images that invoked the story of the decision. I can only offer a 4.

Your title poses a question giving context to the image but alone the image is a well photographed artistic rendition of two wine glasses, one that may simply be in shadows or a different color, it is not apparent. I am not inclined to add the word decision to this image's keywords. glass, wine, art, gold, yes. This said the composition and finesse redeem much of the scoring, but I am left only offering a 4.

An image that makes me wish that you had not used the gothic glow effect. It is in itself very appealing but the processing here has left the grass too dark, the water too greyblue. I am not reminded of the golf which your title is invoking as the greens I see on TV are much lighter colored. The water is not inviting to me because it is not that blue I see the ocean as.

Without the title, this image would not invoke to me a decision, it would say lush, relaxation, peace, perhaps even vacation, but there is no story told here like some other images and I cannot rank it among those that have done this visually without the aide of a title. I can only offer a 4 based on an appealing image that could have drawn me into a beautiful repose had the processing left more to the natural.

A stock image that in some ways transcends into art. Good exposure on a tough subject and the finishing touches of the border also add to the image.

This said, approaching from a stock perspective, black, leather, shift, knob, gears, metal all come to mind, but without the catchy title this image would not lead me to a keyword use of decision. I cannot place this in the ranks of those that have told me that story. I can only offer a 4 for fine technicals, interest and art, but nothing for challenge.

Without the title this image would never convey to me the keyword of decision. It is a good capture of very colorful birds and has a humor or emotion interest that comes from the odd placement of the wing. Could one be comforting the other? Is it a pass?, unfortunately the angle reveals too much of the head tucked under the wing, he is looking for fleas.

Technically this image suffers from some fatal flaws that hurt it beyond the challenge. The right side is almost completely lost to the blown highlight of sky and the fence appears to have been shaken during the shot, causing a crop-wide distraction. In some ways this is a cool thing as it reaches into the abstract, but the main subject is too clear to force me into that arena. It appears that there may have been no choice between shutter speed and open aperture. Both needed to be set to get the exposure, in this case, the fence was out of your control, and a solid tripod would have helped considerably.

In comparison to the images that stood on their own telling me the story of a decision, and considering the technical challenges here, I can only offer a 3.

A building covered with plastic. A light pole hovers below it. Without the title, the image would not conjure the word decision for me, however I am certain that journalistically, the image could be used to better tell the story of a council decision. In this case, I cannot simply dismiss the title, but alone it cannot stand up to those images that visualized the decision instead of verbalized the rationale.

There is a journalistically valid reason for the two to link up and be as one. There is a journalistically solid link to the challenge, but I cannot award the caption, the image does not tell me the story of the decision, it shows me the object related to the decision that was made.

The image suffers from darkness followed by a random object of brightness that is slightly distracting. I cannot say that the image alone invokes a sense of decision, but cannot dismiss it in the context presented. I offer a 4 in comparison with other images and the stregnth of the presentation that will not let me completely dismiss this title as something I would read and see in a newspaper. Congratulations on being one of the few to force me into having to give points for a title.
