the lighting and the colors seem a little flat. i'm not sure about your shooting conditions, but maybe working on the exposure would help. or maybe some levels adjustment to bring out the rich colors in the wood.

i like your use of lighting. however, while there is nothing really wrong with your composition, i feel it could be stronger. the perspective in your shot is rather normal. a more abnormal look at a normal object seems to make more interesting pictures.

i wouldn't crop the foreground out. it helps so much to give a sence of depth. the inclusion of a foreground was one of the reasons i gave it a 10.
