Fun in the Snowby KneeforuComment: This shows nice bokeh that is related to the subject. Cute kid, nice smile, and nice colors. My only complaint is the crop. This would have been much better with both hands showing on the shovel rather than one arm cropped out. Still very nice. |

Until Next Yearby karmatComment: Nice holiday shot. Demonstrates the challenge well. Background is also connected to the subject for extra umph. I would have tied a ribbon to the ornament. You would have given my holiday shot a run for the money. Good luck. |

pine cone endsby camelotnorthComment: I like this shot, but I think the DOF is a bit too shallow. I would have liked it better if more of the pine cone were in good focus. The colors and composition are nice. |

The Forest Spectacleby Joey LawrenceComment: This is a very interesting shot. The focus is great and the background compliments the subject nicely. I could see this shot being used in print. Can't find a thing wrong with it. Bumping up to 10. |

Ponchoby PedroComment: This is a very nice portrait with nice bokeh. I think improvement could be made in the focus (seems to be on the color/chin/mouth rather than the eyes/nose/mouth. Additionally, the bokeh should (to achieve a wow factor) enhance the subject. The background here is fine, but could have been improved if it had picked up some of the color of the sweater. The shadow of the nose is a little distracting as well. All of that said, I still like it very much. 7. |

Circularly Confused by orussellComment: I am really not sure about the bokeh in this one. It really is the subject and not the background, and by the definitions that I have been reading, it would be considered bad bokeh. That said, I really like this shot. It is very interesting and in excellent focus. 9 from me. (terje?) |

Early Riserby BradComment: I like this one. It is a little dark, but the title explains nicely. The focus and bokeh are great. I don't really like the heavy black border. I think I would have went with a narrower border in a lighter color since the picture is dark. I think it would have been a little better with a little more blurred yellow in the right background to even things out a little. Over all very nice shot. Good luck. |

Enchanting Rain by instepsComment: This is a great shot. The background works very nicely. The down side is that it seems a little oversharpened, and I think the border is a little too much. |
