Hot Squaredby PlayWithFireComment: One thing I think that kept the score average
Not razor sharp..I have the same lens and love it. I find that F8-F11 are best for a setup like this. And if you want to really black out the background. Keep the subject and the background as far away from each other as you can. Dial your aperture down to the smallest opening F25/F29 depending on you focal length. Put as much light on the subject as you can while keeping off the background. This will let the shutter open and close before the light has a chance to reflect off the background and back into the camera. More light would have helped the color of the pepper POP too.
I like the composition, the subject, and overall idea (I shot something very similar) here. Please PM me if you have any questions or comments |

HOT by Definition!by 777STANComment: OK this photo really does not have a lot going for it. First it is really flat. The banks flower logo is cut in half, the bricks on the bottom right really don't add anything to the capture. Its been taken from a slight angle but not significant enough to look intentional or purposeful. And the crop isn't centered. True that the sign reads 99degs and that's hot, but this pic just isn't. This was my lowest rated photo for the hot challenge "4" because it is in focus and hot can be seen in the photo without having to read the title. If you where going for Brown or trying to sabotage your score for the better then average side challenge you have succeeded. If not and you have questions or comments please PM me. Scott |

Match Girlsby WildcardComment: Other then a couple of really blown out highlights this shot is a perfect entry. Funny, creative, sexy, and totally original. You have my vote 10. Best of luck Scott |

Sleep tightby kashiComment: Wow what a very underrated photo IMO. For how dark it is there is an amazing amount of detail. Votes show 18 other people were able to see this for what it actually is....perfect. Very nice too bad for the score. Scott |

Jalapeno on Iceby jhomrighausComment: Sorry man, just being a smart a$$. It's a great photo, good contrast, nice and sharp, complimentary colors, well balanced, good light, well set across the bottom 3rd. If this was the one you didn't pick I can't wait to see the one you did. I would have given it an 8 or 9 easy. Scott |
