nice shot. i wonder if it would work better if you cut back on the light some to avoid the hot spots? also, you might want to play with your WB to compare the results from the different settings.

good idea, but unfortuntely, the execution could use a little tuning. overall, it's a little busy; probably could lose the other stuff on the table. also, the flash is a little strong; you might want to try it with something to minimize the flash. from a composition standpoint, you might try moving everything in closer to the tv so there is nothing but the tv and the remotes in the picture. you've made a good start; the key is to build on it.

great idea. i want to say 'great picture', but there's something i can't put my finger on. maybe it's the shadows? also, i may be wrong, but i think your sensor may need cleaning (i see a couple darker spots to the left of center that only show up in my pix when i'm open to f/22 and have dust on my sensor).

this is an image loaded with potential; unfortunately, i'm not sure how you'll fare in the challenge (this isn't really what comes to mind when i think of everyday objects). anyways, there appears to be a fair amount of jpg artifacts on the branches and in the moon. the border is ok. good luck!

you can't get much more abstract than this. i take that back. you could, if you tried. but you'd really have to be trying. this is abstract. i mean, i'd never know what this was if you hadn't told me. can't wait to go and try to figure out how to shoot this myself (unless you'll tell us how...)
