A Few Steps Awayby MsAmbrosiaComment: How surreal! A great find, and a beautiful capture. I very much like your treatment in post. Nice tonal range. I would not personally have chosen these specific tones, but they work well for this image. Nice work. |

Quiet Timeby ScholtenComment: I like the leading lines and reflections, as well as the composition in general. I also like the general softness of the image. I'm bothered very slightly by the halo above the trees. |

Aweby LevTComment: Like the concept, love the execution. Nice tonal range. I found myself wanting just a *little* more definition in the edges of the distant spires, and judging by the fact that the mid-distance is sharper, I suspect that it just wasn't there in the original, either due to focusing a touch inside of the hyperfocal distance, or because of atmospheric turbulence. |

Sunset at Rock Hallby ErikVComment: Without a doubt this is the nicest photo of the Hall of Fame I've come across. Don't know if you could have found better light than this... |

Mt. Sneffles Coloradoby delinComment: You found beautiful light here. Congrats on keeping it natural, not overdoing the colors in post. With a scene like this it would be so easy to go there! |

Festival Spiritby denboteComment: You nailed this. Not only is the composition outstanding, but you've captured the moment perfectly. Just the right shutter speed to capture the fast motion of the feathers, while keeping the face sharp. Your processing is beautifully done as well. One of my top picks of the challenge. |

Arctic Lighthouseby orvaratliComment: One of my top picks of the challenge. A stunning scene, obviously, but also very well executed, and processed very nicely on the whole. My only slight niggle is the stars, which seem oversharpened. I find that this happens on downsizing with bicubic sharper when the larger image is already quite sharp. I sometimes find that this type of image needs a little different treatment when resizing for web.
You chose well on exposure, capturing detail in the auroras, as well as getting nice exposure on the foreground. It so easy to over-do these shots in post-processing, and you have avoided that; you've showed how it *should* be done.
Normally clouds detract from a scene like this, but in this case they are just a beautiful addition! |

Tempestby smichenerComment: I absolutely love this... the light is just ethereal. The combination of late evening daylight and the glow created by the lights on the ride... just wonderful. I really like your choice of exposure time, just enough motion in there. A beautiful image. |
