The background is very distracting as is the table. The image seems clear enough at the top. It will help you alot in the future to consider whats in the whole of the image, even a blank wall is good as a background.

The DOF is just a tad to shallow, it would have been better IMHO to have all of the fungi in focus.

I think a black background would have worked much better and would have helped hide the shadows as well. Good focus.
