Revisiting. This is one of the rare photographs which fit the challege theme perfectly. I admire the expressions on the two figures: the one sitting does not make eye contact with the passerby as he sits rather dejectedly in the snow, while the well-to-do onlooker dismisses him with a curt wave of the hand as he rushes past. Perfect!

If you have some cropping real estate, I would recommend a slight clockwise rotation to level the wall on the left. Also, this appears to be straight B&W, which is thoroughly effective. However, I wonder if a slight toning, say, sepia or steel blue, would add more depth.

In any event, this is one of my favorites this round and I hope it performs well. 8

Revisiting. Excellent exposure and tonal range. Very effective use of toning as well. Gives this that old nostalgic feel. This shot captures the essence of this challenge. Tells a story while maintaining photographic integrity. Bumping up. 8

This is magnificent. Tonal range, exposure, focus, DOF is perfect. Loved the way you composed and framed the shot. Would be very surprised if this does not ribbon. 10

Love the sky and the waves in this shot. Exposure is excellent in this shot...was probably quite difficult to preserve the dynamic range. The only suggestion I can make is to level the horizon with a fractional clockwise rotation. Still, not distracting enough to be a major issue. One of the best this round. 9

Perfect for this challenge. Mysterious, enigmatic, and disconcerting. Tells a story while maintaining utmost photographic integrity. Excellent tonal range. Focus and exposure, and DOF is excellent. The halo is subtle enough not to be distracting and is effective in drawing the gaze upwards. One of my top picks. 10

Haha...this looks somewhat staged, but I don't think it matters. It's a great silhouette with a pleasing backdrop. Framed excellently. Focus is dead on. One of my top picks. 10

Oh my....this is hilarious. Amazing capture, great timing. I like the way the racoon's tail curves into an S. Perfectly exposed and focused as well. If the subject doesn't put voters off, would be amazed if this does not ribbon. 10

Nice view of the movement on this watch. Three things which could be improved upon: Sharpness, Lighting, Color.

Not sure if the fuzziness is due to limitations of your camera's imager, camera shake, or if was just simply off focus. In any case, I would recommend taking a few extra shots on a tripod or on a stable surface to try to get it sharper.

Getting adequate lighting on jewelry and small items as this watch is quite a challenge. Appears to be shot with available light coming in from the top right. The rotation of the balance wheel and inner mechanisms such as the escapement is obscured by strong shadows. I recommend using a diffuse ilght source normal to the face of the watch.

The color in this photograph is rather flat. It's uncertain as to whether the bridges and mainspring barrel are copper in color or if it's skewed white balance. This is tied with the choice of lighting and would probably correct itself once improved.

Very clever and imaginitive. Technical performance successful and without notable inadequacies. Composition has a distinct symmetry which complements this duet.

Ultimately, this is not my cup of tea, and if this image survives, I salute you for your bold and daring entry. 7

Creative play on words. Excellent composition and I'm curious how you set this up. I'll tune in later to read the specifics. 7
