day 6. december slice of life. michel'sby rozComment: This is a cool effect, I like how it smooths and distorts at the same time... with all the business on the right (glad the New Try Me stands out) we are forced back to the gentleman who appears Calm and Calculated. I like it. |

Rainbow from the sunby Rino63Comment: Greetings from the Critque Club.
Very nice shot Gennaro. You have captured the telling of the story well here with the gentleman's eyes.
A technically sound composition with a nice crop, great catch lights and questioning expression of the model. The black background forces the viewer back to the face and the eyes draw us in.
For me the detail of the paint on the gentleman's face is almost too sharp as some of the sharp edges draw my eye to the left side of the shot, away from the eyes which I want to focus on. The red line and gold spot, which need to be in the shot to finish the story, seem to overpower the eyes.
Perhaps softening the shot with a gaussian blur layer and then lightly erasing the eyes back through would give the shot a dreamy inquizitive feel and take just a bit of the face paint white areas and colored.
This is a great expressive shot, very creative. It is an interesting take of a rainbow for the challenge. Voters of DPC are sometimes unfairly set in what a challenge description means to them, and will sometimes give lessor score to shots they don't understand.
Great Job
Andy

Wife and Roseby cogeroxComment: Excellent lighting and detail, I like the destat in the foreground but not quite sure of the yellow rose/white rose thing we got going on. I'm thinking it is a tiny destraction as I am bouncing between the two.
Again the lighting, colors (red dress and rose) and your wife pull this all together. Great job. |

Tonguesby JutildaComment: Very cool close up. shallow dof works well here. We want to focus on the dog in the foreground but are drawn to the back dog because of his smile... It is a great crop. |
