selfportraitday1.jpgby icu1965Comment: What Elvis said... really this is a cool shot, kind of like a TV scan or as you said and old advertisement. |

19by suemackComment: I'm ok with the crop and placement of the subject. For me it still feels a little sharp for a glamouresque type shot. You're headed in the right direction as I can see the softness around the edges.
Try a gaussian blur layer, radius 8, blend mode normal on top and slide the Opacity from 48 down to 38 and see if there is a feel there you like. This will soften the shot and calm down any blemishes that stand out.
Once you have the over all softness you like Erase or Mask the Eyes/eyelashes and Lips back through lightly, leave some softness (erase at opacity of 6 or 8) but bring them out a bit.
Merge down and as mentioned below a little dodging under the eyes might cheer up the shot.
You could also add a slight bit of grain or disfussion to make it even more dreamy. Possible a light vignette around the corners.
Real quick take with the steps above:

18.by suemackComment: Great DOF here, keeping only the onion, fingers and knife in focus. Nice fade on the forward arm coming in from the left. I might crop a bit off the left coming in a smidgeon closer to the bowl on the cutting board (but that's just me). |

December 19: north atrium christmasby elemessComment: There is a lot going on in this shot. I like how the banister in the back jumps out, the bust fits nicely. I'm thinking the lights might be a tad bit hot as they are loosing some of their detail and the brightness keeps drawing me back to them away from the other sub-subjects of the shot. |

December 18: chorus restby elemessComment: I like shots like this where everyone seems to be having their own little conversations (instead of being posed and all looking directly at the camera). Every person has their own little story (expression/action) as you study this one... great catch. |

Day 19 ~ Sculpture People ~by JeniYComment: Quite the festive fun shot. Works well as group shot, with very good lighting (that couldn't have been easy in this situation). |

Leaves .jpgby TheresaAComment: The natural colors and lighting work well and the frame brings em out. I would like to see it a tab bit crisper, still a nice composition. |
