This is my first attempt at my self portrait for this challange. I'm still learning so please bear with me! I did quite a few things on this, sharpen, brightness and used the clone tool to get rid of those dark circles under my eyes. I think it looks like an old advertisement. I don't know if that's bad or good, but it's my first try!

The eyes are really striking in this. I quite like the rather plaintive expression, too.

What he/she said. Stunning. You should make a print for your wall and for your moms wall, and your grandmothers wall. Priceless.

i think you took a weakness in the shot (the blur) and made it into a strength, whatever you did in the pp gave this a really cool feel of an italian portrait from the 60's

Glad to hear there is another novice in this portrait side challenge. We'll have to grow together.

I like it. Kinda like a photo of a tv. Nice work.

When this image opened the eyes really hit me in the face. As I continued to look deeper in I just fell completely in love with this 'classic illustration' type of editing you accomplished. This truly is a masterpiece.

Very nice. Beautiful eyes. It does look like an old ad. Can't wait to see what you do next.

I love the tones in this... I think you should have just softened the dark circles though, it almost makes you look surreal without them.... everyone has some type of shading under the eye... it gives us depth :) Very good start though.....

I was going to say it looks like an old ad, too, even before I'd finished reading your description. I was actually thinking Audrey Hepburn (who's still very popular here in Japan).

It does look like an old ad, and that's a great effect. Has a very sixties quality about it for me. Nice. I think the light is great, the catchlights are perfect, and the frame/crop is intriguing. Nice take. I'm sure others could pick it apart better than I, but I'm so taken with the effect and I think it works so well along with your expression that I don't really have anything too critical to say. Well done.

What Elvis said... really this is a cool shot, kind of like a TV scan or as you said and old advertisement.

The question is whether or not this is the look you were going for? if so I think it came out great. i like the look and love the expression. If not then more light would help the noise. i really like it how it is though.

I like this. It is a little soft on the focus. I do like the effect. And it does look like an ad.
