Soft as a Feather - Hard as a Rock

A very hard concept to deliver in a photo. The left hand side of the left hand rock is in too soft focus to illustrate hard, and the sharp focus on parts of the feather do not convey soft. In fact, it is the downy feathers, not the wing feathers which are soft enough for pillows. The horizontal piece of grass hurts the composition in my estimation, and the wasp steals the eye.

Normally, I would like to see everything to the right of the right newstand cropped away. The subjects are so compelling to the eye, that the street does not detract, but rather helps locate the newsstand. Excellent shot.

The yellows of the spring greens work very well with the dead grasses from the previous year. Nice trail, nice picture. Easy to hang on a wall as a remembrance throughout the year of a fragrant walk in spring.

playing in the swamp

Although it is hard to find a real horizontal or vertical here, the swamp appears to me a little tilted to the right as if it is being drained. Nice amount of light coming down through the leaves, nice reflections, nice natural composition plus good framing.
