Katie Portraitby PixlmakerComment: The angle, pose and composition all work well together here. I might suggest still lighting her from a little higher. |

Big Smile, Fuzzy Sweaterby PixlmakerComment: The light needs to be higher. General recommendation: 45 degrees up and 45 degrees over. Looks like you may have it 45 degrees to her right, but it's straight across (actually just a little bit lower than she is). Which is highlighting the bottom of her cheek. Her smile in her cheeks will be more flattering if the light comes from up above. Message edited by author 2007-11-17 15:02:08. |

Red Dress, Black Backgroundby PixlmakerComment: A tip given to me by several master photographers: Either go full profile or keep her nose within the cheek line. Here her nose has extended past the cheek line. Turning her head back towards you by just a few degrees will bring the nose back inside the cheek line and will let you see more of her left eye. |

Blankby Blue MoonComment: Pretty.
As a suggestion for playing with it: I'd try burning the brick wall to give it some added zing.

Apprehensiveby Blue MoonComment: The pose isn't bad (though I would crop higher to get rid of the white tummy). But wow... that expression says "I'm scared" to me. |

It's in the Eyesby Blue MoonComment: I've heard this tip from several master photographers, so I'm going to pass it on to you:
Always make sure there is at least a little bit of skin on the far side of the far eyeball.
In other words, she needs to turn her head towards you just another couple of degrees so that you can complete her eye socket. Doing so will have the double-effect of allowing you to see the iris of her far eye as well, which, looks strange in this image because of the way it is hiding.

Inhaleby Blue MoonComment: Actually... although she looks strained her ... I kind of like it, but would suggest that she "exaggerate it". Take it further... pull the arm up higher, bend a little further. Make it bold.

Visions of Mauiby Blue MoonComment: Hmmm... I like what you did on the right side, but not the top left. Clone some of the hairs out, but don't go in too tight on the left or it starts to look unnatural.
