The light needs to be higher. General recommendation: 45 degrees up and 45 degrees over. Looks like you may have it 45 degrees to her right, but it's straight across (actually just a little bit lower than she is). Which is highlighting the bottom of her cheek. Her smile in her cheeks will be more flattering if the light comes from up above.

I'm not sure I care for this one, and it's not the braces. I think maybe it's a little too close in and the lighting shows all her pores in a way that does not appeal to me.
