Self-Portraitby daboardergirlComment: Okay, I'm starting to repeat myself ... once again, beautiful eyes. Absolutely gorgeous.
I don't care for the skin tones, however. It looks like you took the image illuminated by an incandescent light and didn't quite get the WB right, so the skin tones suffered.

Feb. 2by daboardergirlComment: Love the eyes and the subtle smile. Beautiful processing everywhere except the top of the hat ... it almost merges with the wall. Need to do something about that ... maybe burn the wall? |

Green Eyes Day 3by tjbel05Comment: Boy... everyone else is saying the like it and I hate to be one to disagree. I do like the idea. I'd like to see what the original looked like in color because I think this image is suffering from a bad B&W conversion. And for me, the selective desat doesn't work because your eyes are too small within the image to really see the color. The part I don't like most is your upper cheek and forehead. They don't look all that bright, and yet they give every indication of being "blown out". Perhaps because of Neat Image? (blown out highlights are notorious for their lack of detail and NI removes detail, so that may be why they appear to be blown)
I'd be happy to take a shot at the B&W conversion (not that I'm the greatest, I generally don't do a lot of B&Ws). Email me if you're interested.

041_Me1.jpgby bennettjamieComment: Skin tones are lighter/better here than in #055. Might be good to reduce saturation just a bit though.
I keep wondering about the pose ... maybe sitting up a little straighter would help? Also, turn your head slightly more towards the camera so that the far eye (your right eye in this instance) is complete. Right now it is partially blocked by your nose on one side, and left hanging (no skin to surround it) on the other side. It'll only require that you turn your head slightly to correct both issues. |

055_Me2.jpgby bennettjamieComment: For one thing, I like that you still have texture in your skin. To many people PS-the-heck out of skin and turn it plastic. I do, however, think you could lighten the skin up a bit (perhaps the overall picture could use a bump in Curves to bring the lighting up). I'd also get rid of the redness that is in your eye.
Actually, thinking along different lines... try this one in B&W and see what you get.

044_me5.jpgby bennettjamieComment: This is my favorite. But I wish your toe wasn't cut off, and I think there are better positions for your left hand, unless you were purposely hiding it...
