Miss Understoodby roadrunnerComment: I like the use of D&B for its dramatic effect in the image - though I do wish I could see the girl's face a little better. |

End of the Dayby BebeComment: Just wondering where this was taken... it looks like a beach down in Brazil. |

The Boy Who Giggled So Sweetby gsalComment: Okay, it's only my opinion, but... I just think this is the wrong way to go when doing selective desat. By making everything else color but the boy, you've lessened his importance in the picture. If it were a ball he was holding, or something he was wearing, any small subject related to him, it would work because you would immediately connect the in-color object to the person holding or wearing it, etc. In this case, all that happens is I see the color in the background and wonder what made the boy go b&w...
Anyway, like I said, it's my opinion. I'll still give you credit for a nice image of the kid - gotta love that smile! |

Three's a Crowdby CalliopeKelComment: I really like this one - hope to see it near the top. The girls in the background, in spite of being outside the field of focus, really add emphasis to the foreground girl. The lighting, the leading lines in the walls and the camera angle also work well to bring you right to the subject. Could it ribbon? I'm hoping it will. :-) |

Waiting for Springby barrowComment: Absolutely lovely image... wish it were in the Best of 2005 challenge instead of the Singled Out challenge as I would have voted it much higher there. |

Just Waitin'by kevrobertsonComment: I really like the picture but... even the girls that are probably 25 feet awa look like they are in focus. I was hoping to see a stronger separation of the subjects by controlling depth of field. |

Chromatic Eruptionby kteachComment: Wow... 5th place. This one deserved better. My favorite of the bunch. Very cool, very well executed, easily deserving of a 7+ score. |

The Yellow Houseby BeagleboyComment: I really like the image. Though ... as small as the house is it doesn't feel like a "burst of color". Great image though! |
