Underground - Interludeby MatthewComment: This is a ridiculously underrated shot. Top 15 in my book!
Bad luck on placing so low with a shot that, IMO, deserved to do much better.

Commute to Obscurityby StrikeslipComment: Great entry Mr. Strikeslip, I'm not sure why it isn't in the top 10, though. Some of these results have...surprised me.

Splendor in the Grassby magnusComment: Great minimalism, dreamy feel which is obviously quite important in this challenge. Could this be a fantasy world? Yeah why not! Other wordly enough for me.
Fantastic colours, red and green complement one another brilliantly! An 8 from me.

Starmanby sherComment: Great Bokeh and DOF. I like the tones as well. I don't know what I think about taking a photo of a figurine, but you've done this really brilliantly.
You've managed to create a fantasy world that looks extremely real using a very fake looking prop, which is obviously quite difficult. Good job on this one...

Free worldby heidaComment: Well that's pretty awesome. Well composed to emphasize the height of the jump (and that is a pretty big jump!).
I'm glad to see you didn't succumb to the tempation to burn those clouds to pieces in PS. Are those bubbles I see? Great shot, great pose from the model - I get fantasy world from this and I hope everyone else does as well!
Good luck

"Titania, Moon of Uranus... We have Landed"by tfarrell23Comment: I like this stark landscape, dramatic and other wordly it most certainly is. I think you'll get a lot of people claming that this did not meet the challenge, but I figure any strange, dramatic landscape fits.
Perhaps try pushing up the contrast with this, or desaturating using the channel mixer instead of the 'normal way'.
As it is the shot is a little unstriking and bland (but not too much) - a 7 from me.

Almost Out of the Woodsby charmayneComment: Very 'headless horseman' sort of feel to this shot (if that makes any sense at all). I think this is great, inner framing on a beautiful but dark green forest with some dull foreground clutter leaves. Possibly a little oversaturated at the back but it's a very fine line! I hope this does well, I predict top 10 but what the hell do I know :)

REVISITED: Perhaps a little bit could have been cropped off the left. If only you could clone out that bit of greenery on the top right ;)
Still 9 :) |
