i think i got this little guy from a gumball machine ages ago. never knew what to do with him until now.

macro mode...tinsel for the background and i taped his feet to some bubble wrap. lit from the side with my desk lamp. minor cloning and healing to take care of reflections, NI for noise, custom quadtone in blue.

Nice bokeh and the translucent look makes for a very appealing composition. Good composition and image quality. There are a number of alien themed images and reviewers having seen them could affect your score. The left shoulder and arm of the alien is overexposed and should be toned down a bit to keep them from being an image distraction.

Being a toy will not help, but you have done as much as I think is possible to transform it from a simple toy that could be done to make it look realistic. Coloration in the photo is good, lighting I think is excellent as is the DOF. 6

Awesome picture for this challenge! This definitely looks other-worldy. I love the ethereal blues. I am going to check after the challenge to see exactly what you did to accomplish this effect -- so I hope you told :) Great job.

Great Bokeh and DOF. I like the tones as well. I don't know what I think about taking a photo of a figurine, but you've done this really brilliantly.

You've managed to create a fantasy world that looks extremely real using a very fake looking prop, which is obviously quite difficult. Good job on this one...

You found one!!! I was looking hard for one. Good job of making it look sort of surreal and ethereal. Lighting and shadows are VERY NICE. All the "flares" work fanstastically with this photo. One of my favorites! Hope you do well.
