The pose here is pretty nice, fairly relaxed, although I sort of wish she was doing a little something more with her hands but it's hard to say what. I find that the most difficult part of modeling along with the expression. This could also use that yellow cast removed. You've lost the whites of her eyes but you may be able to dodge them enough to get a little detail. The only other thing is what looks like sensor dust on the wall in the background.

The smile is nice but her teeth are really yellow. I like the natural tilt of the head, very playfull. The tight crop works well here. Things I might mess with, depending on how much you use photoshop, would be dodging her eyes to make them pop a little more, removing the yellow heavy from teeth and slightly from the skin, lightening the background to seperate her from it a little more, and cloning out the chair. This is of course all subjective but just what I would do if this were my shot.

Cool shot! Love the make up done in this one and the near abstract feel to it. A couple things I would try to fix. The eyes have a green cast in them that is very unnatural which is kind of suprising because the blue looks great. The only other thing i might experiment with is cropping so the eye brows are at the top of the frame. It just seems a little awkward having them so low. Just an idea but overall this is one my favorite shots of yours.

I like the idea of the shot and the lighting is great but I'm not sure that I can agree with whats been said about the expression. It just seems a little to stiff and obviously posed for me. Its hard to put a finger on exactly what causes it. I think it might be the stiffness of the hands and not so much the actual expression on her face. The bottom right dosen't bother me like it did others. Either way this is still a well done and beautiful shot.

This is a very creative entry and I have a hard time figuring out how you did it. The composition works well. You have blown out some details in the flowers and I'm not sure the selective desaturation really adds to the shot. Another thing that might help, although would definetly take more time, is having more daisies in the shot. The last thing that could stand a little improvement is the facial expression of the model. It seems almost pained and could stand to be a tad more pleasent. With all that said you still did pretty well and I look forward to seeing more of your work in the future.

You've got yourself a nice crisp clean image of this beautiful tiger. The depth of field works well and the color is strong. Still though there is something missing from this shot. The expression is so stiff and straight forward it is almost as if it could be a statue. It might even help if he was looking to the right just to have him clearly engaged in observing something. Or maybe a tighter crop would help give it more 'wow' factor. Still a nice shot though, hope this helps.

Shades of Blue

Shades of Blue

Comment:
There are a couple of things that would have helped this image. First it would be nice if the blue extended all the way to the bottom of the frame. The glasses could stand to be in sharper focus. And finally, I think the shades of blue are a little to close to one another. It would have made the image much more contrasty with a slightly wider range of the three shades. All that being said, you still did fairly well in the challenge and with a little tweaking this could go from a good image to a great one.

wow, lightning shots are very cool but you rarely see them with a nice city scape as the foreground. The tungsten of the street lights contrasts well with the light of the sky. My only complaint is that it seems to be blurry on the left and right of the shot. Not sure why but not a big deal.

Well I don't see a tree but I suppose you already fixed it. Nice powerfull colors and almost unrealistic but, in a really cool way. Good choice darkening the sky to help make the flowers pop more. Did you use a small gradient filter up top to get that nice fall off? If so good choice, that's one of my favorite ways to add interest and dynamic to a flat background.

I didn't think about it right away but I've studied Doisneau's work a little and I completely agree with elee. Wonderfull capture of different and fun expressions and a good choice for black and white. Such a fun image to look at.
