Boltless & Broken - Retired Bale Feederby joycobbComment: interesting compostion. My first thought when I opening the image was there wasn't enough information to convince me this met the broken challenge. But the more I looked at the compostion, the more I was convinced that it does a great job of communicating the message and meets the challenge very well. Are you confused yet? OK, how about a 9? |

Smashedby JulieGComment: I like the geometric shapes created by piling the broken pieces on top of one another. The backlight nicely separate the subject and dthe red liquid is just enough to add interest but not overpower the image. Great job. 10 |

• Dysfunctional •by Bear_MusicComment: I like this subject, but can't decide if I like the scratches. I'm thinking it was intentional, and I'm probably being a bit daft for not seeing the connection to the subject. The b/w is good. There is a bit of a hot spot on the left side, but it's not a killer for me (try a shot of hair spray to kill reflections). 7 |

Larger than Lifeby glad2badadComment: You know the saying "The devil's in the details"? That's what this is too me - some "if onlys". If only that red bucket wasn't there to distract attention. If only that whatever it is wasn't bisecting the head. Plus, you should consider cropping a lot off the left as it does nothing for the image. I know it sounds like I don't like this image, but actually I do. If only... 6 |

First Signs Of Dangerby ornithstrologyComment: While I'm not one of Woodie's biggest fans, this is well thought out and technically very well done. I will break with tradition and give this a 9. I have to say that I find the though of Woody being torn to splinters by an ancient raptor very agreeable. |
