I like a number of individual aspects of this image: Shadows on the leaves; shadows on the wood; luminescent stalks; the angle of the image and how it fills the frame. But the overall effect seems harsh to me.

Very cool. You have done a very nice job with the lighting to creat dimensionality in the photo. Choice of leaf is excellent for the topic and the dark background enhances image. I am sure you will get "centered comp" criticism but no other comp would have worked as well IMO. Great job!

Subject is okay but a little cliched. DOF is distracting. Composition could use some work. I think it would improve the picture if you had taken it from a more unusual perspective. Higher up (as in from a tree or the top of your car) or at a more oblique angle. As it is, it looks like it could have been shot through your car window. Looks like it was shot mid-day. Try earlier in the morning or very late in the pre-sundown sunshine.

WOW! What a beautiful image. The lighting on this is so superior to most of what I've seen so far. It gives a truly 3 dimensional look to the image. The focus is dead on and the DOF is fantastic -- just shallow enough to blur the background, just deep enough to get the flower and its spikey leaves. This will certainly finish among the top 10.

Sun flowers and their leaves are okay. The truck inthe background is a major distraction and pulls the rest of the image pretty far down.

WOW! This will surely end up in my top 10 if not my top 3. The colors are vibrant without hurting my teeth. Background is as interesting as the foreground but compliments rather than competes. Very Very Nicely Done!
