Interesting take. The black and white introduces the viewer to a harmonious "palette" and a pleasing composition. Accomplished.

Quirky, full idea. Love that sock. It's composed and photographed very nicely. I do admit, though, that seeing a character in a hot frying pan is a bit jarring.

Charming. Beautifully imagined, arranged and photographed. Painted in less than ten minutes? That's wonderful. All the necessary pieces are purposeful, and blend effortlessly into the whole. A tour de force.
Personal favorite of the challenge.

What an amazing transition from analog, the color version, into the digital black and white. A switcheroo from the usual expectation.

Dizzying, intricately ordered image. The neatest aspect of the picture is that the central building hardly changes as it morphs from color into black and white. The entire transition is modest and cinematic. The roads and tracks smoothly lead into each other from one version to the other. Beautifully integrated.

Wonderful choice of image. The lovely result comes off as a chalice, or an Olympic flame. The sense that they're growing out of one another is moving. A delicate explication of the challenge.

What I find provocative here, and maybe I'm fooling myself, is that the black and white version seems sharper than the color version. More contrasty, too. Kind of reverses the expectation that the seeming present is more at hand than the past, as we tend to view black and whites. Also, the sense of the cyclist fleeing into his own time is engaging.
Rewarding image.

Lovely transition, carried by the woman's insouciant air. She treads that narrow path into the camera. The colors of the scene on the left are subtly luscious, especially the reds and blues. She can hold her own in any world she chooses.

Another beauty. The grasshopper seems to be woven of life itself, worthy of an entire career's study. What's marvelous in the black and white is the disappearance of green, more so than the fade out of browns. The forms of the grasses now come into their own, the bokeh like northern or southern lights. The grasshopper is now camouflaged and serene. That's putting quite a spin on it, but I'm on a roll.
Fascinating.
