Fire Escape in Louisvilleby namComment: Lovely image. The composition, varied shapes, lines and textures and cozy palette work seamlessly, harmoniously, together. Reminiscent of Edward Hopper's painting, "Early Sunday Morning." |

embrace your imperfectionsby rozComment: And they say you can't transmute base into gold. It's all gold, so what's the issue? Lovingly seen and offered. |

Great Grey Owlby jcarComment: The optimal path, black and white. The owl, in its placid finery, is a revelation. And what a wonderful balance found in the owl and attending tree. Not really stark, but beautiful in a stark way. Yeah, stunning. |

Flights of Fancyby MelethiaComment: The rich colors, amber and ultramarine, support the sense of fantasy. At first this looked like a flight of hummingbirds, a happy mix-up. Graphically superb. |

Winter by vawendyComment: Quietly joyous. Bison, inseparable from land, walking along on this mild winter day. Strongly weighted composition. The bushes/trees nicely dapple the scene. The snow looks properly white, making a case for high key but for the palette reaching deeply into brown. So, surprisingly warm. Handsome, iconic. |

Portrait of a Titmouse by grahamgatorComment: Wonderfully engaging and clever. The composition is built up, bottom to top, in measured fashion, an ascension. The more somber tones nicely serve to bring out the red berries, the leaves and the rich brown. Also the titmouse's throat and eye patch. Powerfully intimate. |

Just before the blizzard by MargaretNetComment: Really? I'm the first to comment on on this glorious, crystalline celebration? Love the flowing composition and the stark contrast, with only the blown snow and the imagination interceding. Very sharp; perhaps the clarity of high altitude. Ancient. |

fbShiprockB-W8xIMG_7807by RistyzComment: Perfect for black and white, and a terrific image. The light is very dramatic. The immense depth of field, and all that it contains, is breathtaking. I'm not bothered by the wing because it's staunchly given as a part of the photo and is becoming in its own right. When I think of America (US), this is what I want to think of. |

By the Doorby glad2badadComment: Of brief duration, yet still casually rewarding in its placement on a sunlit floor, the shoes catch highlights and shadows, and change as the sun swings across the sky. The smile in passing as you notice them, and enjoy them, is likewise brief. Humble beauty. |
