Behind closed doorsby AmmieComment: What photography can do, capture that brief moment of near sunset and allow us to hold it up for inspection, and introspection, like a water-filled globe. You can point to where the sun is by what's aglow. As I'm doing now.

Though it's merely life unfolding, there's the urge to look away, whether out of respect or inability. That they're on a steel gray twisted wire seems implacably final. Terrific image. |

A few minutes before midnight by Alex_PetriniComment: Three aspects. First the far distant that enfolds us. Second our rectilinear humanity, and blaring lights. Third the foreground rocks, which look to be sea creatures returning with the tide. Terse and powerful. |

Mantisfly with Bokehby rozComment: So much to see - the mantisfly under the pointed grass arch, bejeweled with water drops, who's playing a spiderweb harp, and backed by sherbety bokeh. So, of a piece. Backyard perfection.
