Lumiere de bougieby graphicfunkComment: A terrific example of impressionism- one of my top 5. The streaks of light above the candle make it obvious that this is no mere PS effect. Looks like something placed on or in front of the lens to create a realistic, painterly look. I'll be interested to see how it was done. Good job! 9 |

pines at sunsetby ursulaComment: Great effect captured in the water, though the subject's a little too ambiguous for my taste. Something sharp, like a leaf or a duck would polish it off for me. Still, this should easily place in the top ten. 8 |

Leda and Zeusby magnetic9999Comment: I have to compete with THIS?!? I dunno if it's impressionism, but it's freakin' gorgeous. There's a little too much detail to match my admittedly novice understanding of impressionism, but the colors and composition are great. Should make the top 5 easily, if not ribbon. |

Fallen Leavesby agwrightComment: One of the few "in focus" images that I feel makes a strong connection with impressionism, and I don't know exactly why. Of course, the subject matter is excellent, the composition and muted colors are great, and the focus is juuuuust soft enough to suggest impressionism. The pale squiggly lines under the water are annoying, but I expect to see this in the top 5... maybe a ribbon. Good luck! 9 |

Water Lilies (The Clouds)by GordonComment: Though I'm not a huge fan of the motion blur approach, you found the ideal subject and the colors are perfect. I think with a different approach to the impressionism aspect (a shallower DOF with a very slight motion blur, or shooting through mottled glass, for example), this shot would have dominated the challenge. It still might... one of my top three picks! 9 |

Cold november night by heidaComment: This is just fabulous! Wonderful colors, composition and emotion, with just enough focus to capture the moment. My pick for blue- hope to see you there! 10 |

Doggie Days - August - Dachshund by smokeditorComment: You and BradP are going to force me to keep a generic congratulations note handy for copy and pasting: "Congrats on yet another incredible photo of ______. Keep up the great work, but take a vacation once in a while to give the mere mortals a chance." ;-) |

Celestial Flow by BradComment: Slow down! Your ribbons might start to stick together if they're still hot. Congrats! |
