Me and My Boy!by scarbrdComment: Cute pic! Tell me, though, why are you two the only ones having a good time at the air show? |

Lake of Luzern Fun 2by Noel_ZHComment: Removing halo effect helps...I'd still burn the heck out of those columns in the background and the square white card on the bike...but that's just me. |

Lake of Luzern Fun 1by Noel_ZHComment: Originally posted by Noel_ZH: KaDi, thanks for the comments, very good point. I've now lasso'd the face, duplicated, set to overlay 30%, and I'm quite satisfied with that (definitely looks a lot better!). Not sure what you're asking in relation to how I'm doing it, let me know what specifically and I'll try my best to explain :) Thanks again!
ps: reuploaded up the image with the new one. |
You've already explained...in this case you made a selection (face) and set the layer to overlay....different from the method I describe but that's fine with me. I've noticed that there are many different approaches to dodge and burn...I'm just curious how other people go about it.
ps: look better...not overdone at all |

Broken track going nowhereby mclComment: This just doesn't say "train track" to me. Perhaps it's a trolley track? But there's so little context to carry the idea in the image...no real point of interest once the rail is seen to keep me looking. |

Abandoned Tunnelby fencekickerComment: Nice concept to have the train framed by the tunnel...looks like it took some patience to capture the train in the right position. The story is broken, however, by the realization that the tunnel is not the tunnel for the train...unless it's running on rubber wheels. Image also appear washed out on my monitor...would like the blacks to be black. |

Nighttime Blurby NerdJNerdBirdComment: I like the lighting and mood of this image but the concept of "train" is lost in the long exposure...it could easily be just an elevated highway as anything else. In addtion, the size of your model in the frame seems to dwarf the the city creating, for me, an impression of looking at scale-model of a city. Sorry, maybe I just had to be there. |

Union Terminalby sibelingComment: I like the sweep of the tracks and the way they lead to the interestingly shaped building...but the empty sky takes away so much. |

Contact Connectionby neophyteComment: Nice way to isolate a concept. I like the grain of the image. The crop feels a little awkward, though...especially with the inclusion of the element in the upper right corner and the cut-off of the most foreground spike. |

Old No. 7by GeneralEComment: I like the way you've worked to begin to isolate the subject. I feel, however, that there's too much going on in the image as a whole for me to know where to focus my attention. Several ideas yank my eyes around, the "7," the fire, the light on the cab, and then the lovely "S" curve of the pipes emerges... |
