The Mile High Cityby Marc923Comment: While I like the photograph better for them, the punched up dramatic clouds steal the eye away from the skyline. So ironically, better photo, worse entry. |

Determinedby LadComment: The highlights are a bit too hot on the skin, it seems you could have darkened them a touch even if it meant loosing some blacks, since so much of the story is lost in those blasting whites. |

Sliceby TiberiusComment: I love the depth of textures you caught here, but I do wish you had knocked the brightness down on the back wall down the alley, there isn't much going on there but it pulls the eye away from all the interesting stuff |

Dead Still Lifeby mefnjComment: The processing is great, especially on the skull, but I do wish the burlap didn't wander into and out of the frame. I like the edges, but wish they were all there. |

Fountain playby MelethiaComment: I love the figure and the splash but the fountain's white on white with no tones just drags the image down. |

Ham Stock for Split Pea Soupby Bear_MusicComment: The processing just makes this look evil, like something that would come out of Mr. Dahmer's kitchen, The flecks of color rising out of dark broth, with the fractal sheen of fat dancing across the top. Ill bet it smells great, but the processing makes me think that Kosher might be a good idea. |

Oven-Crisped Bread with Tomato and Fresh Basilby DomDComment: I think the vivid colors of the plate steal the drama from the food. A simpler plate or even a cutting board would have made the bruschetta the soloist, while here it seems to be playing a duette. |

Pearl Tapioca Pudding and Smoked Tunaby neeshamComment: The tapioca looks great, but the tuna is blown in the highlights, and framed like an after thought. If it has the same lovely lighting and glistening highlights the pudding has, it would be a ribbon winner. |

Seafood Paella by ekmaiComment: Beautiful dish, great set up, my only issue is the flatness of the light in the bowl. I wish you had a bit more contrast and highlights in the bowl to give sparkle and pop. Never the less best of the batch so far |
