Double Druid Pi by scarbrdComment: Wahooo, that's blue, dude! :D
Congratulations, David! While I hate the processing of the sky, the rest of the image was so dead-on for the challenge it couldn't help but win! Great job! :) |

Another dayby dougi555Comment: Greetings from the Critique Club.
While the colors in this image are quite striking and it IS interesting to see the three images together; I think the image lacks that dynamic "pop" that DPC voters look for. A strong focal point or more daring composition may have helped your score quite a bit. With such lovely evening light, I think you should play around with shooting different angles and compositions from that spot and see what you can come up with.
Hope that helps.

Day at the Parkby meyersComment: Greetings from the critique club!
Hi there. This is a lovely mother/son study which I'm sure this family will treasure. As for DPC, I think the image is lacking a dynamic punch which would have helped it to score better. The soft desat on the main picture is nice, but then looks pale and lacking contrast when compared to the other two. Perhaps b/w on the larger image would have made that difference seem more intentional and would give your image a little more drama.
Hope that helps. Good luck with your future entries.

Optical Beautyby RiderGalComment: Greetings from the critique club!
This image is well composed, I like the variety in the 3 images as each is quite different from the others. The image on the right, however shows very harsh light which I'm sure effected your score. Also, it looks like a sticker was left on the glasses in the image on the right which is distracting so close to her eye. Overall, I think you did a nice job, but a bit more care to details would have scored higher.
Hope that helps. Good luck with your future entries.

Nice job capturing this cute kitty. The reflected window light is very nice, especially in the first image. As a triptych, I think the first and second images are too similar for this to work well. With a bit more variety I think this image would have scored much beetter.
Hope that helps. Good luck with your future entries.

Nail on a Soap Bubbleby JasComment: Greetings from the Critique Club!
Uhmm.... wow! This is an impressive macro shot. I love the tension on the bubble surface. You are quite right about the reflective qualities of bubbles, not only do they show EVERYTHING around them, they are also hard to light. You handled both challenges well with this one. Congrats on a great finish.

Left behindby DetonaComment: Greetings from the Critique Club!
Hi there. I really like this image. The use of Rule of Thirds really turned what could have been a snapshot into a nice photograph. I think the colors are a little flat which probably hurt your score somewhat, and the sky is a little noisy. One careful pass with NeatImage or similar software would make a nice improvement.
Good luck with your future entries.

bubble glassby xtianComment: Greetings from the Critique Club!
Hi Christian. Congratulations on a lovely image. I think you put this image together nicely, lighting through the globe was a smart move as it gives the image detail in both the bubbles and the hand. Overall composition does feel a little tight and you may have scored better if the hand had a little breathing room on each side, but that's minor. You finished well!
Good luck with your future entries.

I can do thisby PurpleFireComment: Greetings from the Critique Club!
Hi Lian. While this image is definitely divided in thirds and quite well I might add, it doesn't really follow the "Rule of Thirds" which is quite well defined in the arts world. Your subject, while captured well, is centered in the composition which is causing a stagnant feel. I think if you had moved your subject to the left of the frame, leaving us plenty of room in front of him to see where he is going you could have made a stronger, more dynamic composition. I hope this helps.
