Too soon, they're all grown up - enjoy the moments!by glad2badadComment: I find myself a bit unsure about this image. On one hand it came across as a wonderful family moment, but I found the rails in the back of the image (behind the woman's head) a bit distracting. I wonder if less zoomed in, to present a bit more of the track, might have given me more of a wow feeling. Or perhaps had images been taken a few seconds later when the shot could have been cropped closer to the subjects to show only that fun curve in the track. |

s h e l l sby Ja-9Comment: *Greetings from the Critique Club*
Beautiful shot, one of my favorites in the challenge with that full image of vibrant yellow and wonderful repeating pattern of 'shells'. Lighting is wonderful, I love the bits of shadow in the central part of the flower.
You definitely met the challenge, and congrats on a great score. I do not see any negative aspects to your image. As for differences between yours and those that scored a bit better - I'm not sure. There is drama in all, but yours has nice drama too. The other flower shot had less shadows, and it's shadow had more of a yellow color than brown. But the brown in your shot coordinates nicely with the yellow I think.
So nicely done and congrats again on a great finish! Keep up the great work.

Fractals in Natureby grahamgatorComment: Lovely colors and geometry. That very left tip of the plant seems out of focus, but since there is where the image led my eye it was a bit of a letdown for that tip not to be sharp. But overall I still really enjoyed this photo. |

Hard Core, Soft Leavesby MadMan2kComment: I like the silhouette idea for this shot, makes the geometry really stand out. There is a bit of blurriness on the left and right sides in the center that distracted me a bit. I kept trying to decide if it was just windy or if this was an effect you planned/wanted. (But the blur took away a bit from my enjoyment of this image.) |

Anglesby banmornComment: I like the concept, and you captured some really interesting geometry, but I found the yellows a little harsh and the spot on the right side that looks a little brownish distracted me a bit. |

emerging talentby daisydavidComment: At first glance I wasn't sure I liked this image much, but as I sat with the image it really grew on me. The processing really works for me. I really liked the color and texture of the water, and the tangle of branches made for a pleasing, yet defined, composition.
I am little less sure about how well this image met my original interpretation of the challenge of 'find a subject' that shows organic geometry. The sticks seem like multiple subjects, and I'm not sure how much geometry I see in the water.
But overall I still really like the image and I think it's a creative twist on the challenge. |
